Homeopathy in Mid Devon, a healthy alternative

ABOUT ME, TRICIA ST CLAIR

After working for many years in business, I found myself in a personal crisis.  It was during the recovery of that crisis that I made the choice to work in an area where I could be sure of the integrity of what I was doing.

I had been helped and now I wanted to help others.  I decided that I would consider a complementary therapy and so began investigating a wide number of them.

I had been treated by a Homeopath with great success and I had felt it was a very sensible way of treating illness. I particularly liked the fact that it holds individual people AS individuals.   This was precisely what I wanted to do.

I trained at the West Midlands College of Practical Homeopathy - at that time in Dudley.  I qualified from the 4-year part-time diploma course in 1997 and have had a practice since then in Worcestershire and now in Devon.

About 7 years ago I felt that I didn't know enough to adequately help some of the people who found their way into my consulting room.  I had been 'treating' two different young women who had been severely abused and I didn't know what to to. I felt very inadequate.  All I could do was listen to them.

I decided to get some further training and began another 4-year part-time course, this time in psychodynamic counselling at Gloucestershire Counselling Service.  I qualified in 2005.

The irony is that I learned that listening was the right thing to do for the two women.

I moved to Cullompton, Devon with my family in 2006 where I now see people for Homeopathic treatment or counselling.  I also continue to visit Worcestershire where I hold a clinic each month and I supervise homeopathic students in their pre-graduation work with patients.
